Say it, Surprise! National Community Survey coming soon

What do you love about living in Surprise? What services do you value most? What can the city do better to improve the quality of life in our hometown?

You can share your thoughts in the 2021 National Community Survey (NCS)!

What you tell us helps to identify priority projects for Surprise and indicates where limited city funding should go in order to provide the services you most desire.

This scientific survey, conducted by Polco/ National Research Center of Boulder, Colorado, examines residents’ responses on topics ranging from traffic flow to public safety to senior and youth services.

Later this month, paper surveys will be mailed to 2,700 randomly-selected Surprise households in the first wave of data collection. Later on, an online version will open for the entire city to participate.

All survey results are anonymous. The city does not know which addresses have been selected by the third-party surveyor and only receives the aggregate results.

Beginning this week, postcards will arrive at the selected addresses advising that the survey is on the way. The survey itself, along with a postage-paid return envelope, will arrive after February 10. There will also be an online option provided to these selected households. To be sure that selected residents receive their survey, a second survey will be mailed as a follow-up later in the month.  Residents who complete and mail the first survey, or complete it online, can disregard the second mailing.

The NCS will be offered online to the community at large beginning in mid-March. Details will be provided at www.surpriseaz.gov when they become available.

Results are expected in May and will be shared online at www.surpriseaz.gov.

We thank you in advance for your participation, as you help to make Surprise an even better community!
