Stormwater Utility

On May 17, 2016, Council approved the establishment of a Stormwater Utility, a fund dedicated to the complete and proper management of the city’s stormwater system. As of November 1, 2016, residential customers now pay a $2 Stormwater Utility line item on monthly water/wastewater bills.

For Commercial Customers

Commercial customers in Surprise pay a Stormwater Utility fee calculated based on the amount of impervious surface area on their site. Commercial customers are encouraged to apply for the Stormwater Utility Non-residential Credit Program which may reduce the base fee.
