Surprise_Acadimies
City Academy is an opportunity for residents, students and business owners to learn about their City directly from the Mayor, Councilmembers, City Manager and upper-level city staff.

The 2017 City Academy will begin on March 6 and will meet weekly through April 17.

Classes will meet from 6-8:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Surprise Public Safety Building, located at 14250 W. Statler Plaza in Surprise, unless otherwise noted.
The goals of the City Academy are to:

  • Educate residents on municipal government structure, process and funding
  • Generate public interest and involvement in local issues
  • Provide a forum for residents to voice their ideas in a structured educational environment
  • Build a pool of informed residents ready to engage in community affairs and to become effective community leaders
  • Increase the level of trust between residents and the City
The eight-session course is free, but registration is required by Feb. 23, 2016.
