Surprise Stadium

Surprise Stadium is the Spring Training home for the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals, and was voted as the “Number 1 Spring Training Stadium in Arizona.” (USA Today 2018)

Surprise Stadium opened in December 2002, and since then, has hosted not only Spring Training games, but plenty of little league, high school and college sports tournaments, too. It is also home to the Surprise Recreation Campus Hall of Fame, which recognizes achievements of our Spring Training home teams and players, as well as individuals who dedicated their time to the great sport of baseball in our city. The list includes players and team supporters of the Rangers and Royals, community Spring Training supporters, and more. View the list.

This award-winning facility is used for more than sports. Surprise families have stretched out on the fields to enjoy kid-friendly Movie Nights with their neighbors for years, and thousands gather every Fourth of July for a dynamic fireworks show and entertainment festival. Visit the Special Events page for a full list of activities.
