  1. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Celebration & Service

    January 19, 2019, 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM @ Surprise City Hall Courtyard

    Join us for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Celebration & Service. The event kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with musical performances and a light breakfast for the first 500 attendees. A program celebrating Dr. King’s life will begin at 9 a.m. The program will be emceed by Susan Casper, host of ABC 15’s Sonoran Living and will include music, dance and inspiring speakers. Following the program, at approx. 10 a.m., volunteers will go out and complete various service projects. Projects will last approx. 1-4 hours and will include painting, landscaping, removal of refuse, and serving at community and nonprofit agencies. How to get involved: • Individuals/Families – If you can only attend the service project portion of the day, please arrive at 9:45 a.m. to receive an assignment. Advanced registration is not required, but is helpful. Email if you are interested. • Groups – RSVP your group name and estimated number to Ervin.Cutwright@surpriseaz.go

    The Surprise Fire-Medical Department is holding an open house at City Fire Station 304, 24900 N. 163rd Ave. Residents can come out and meet the firefighters, check out the living and eating quarters, walk through the bays and see the fire trucks! Attendees will also get a look at the medical equipment, firefighting gear and tools used on emergency calls.
