The Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) recently awarded the Surprise Fire-Medical Department a $9,180 grant to help improve the proper and consistent use of child safety seats. The funding will help the department provide 100 car seats, boosters and associated safety materials to local families as well as provide training for certified car seat technicians.

The Surprise Fire-Medical Department works closely with the Surprise Police Department to provide car seat clinics, occupant protection awareness events, and education on the importance of using child safety seats in the car.

Please join us on the first and third Tuesday and third Saturday of each month for our child safety seat inspections at Fire Station 303, 15440 N. Cotton Ln, from 9:00 -11:00 a.m. For more details, please call 623.222.5000.

Follow Surprise Fire-Medical Department and Surprise Police Department for information on additional community events throughout the year.
