City of Surprise “Deck the Hock” holiday event Dec. 8

Join City of Surprise for the 5th annual Deck the Hock holiday event! This free, family-friendly celebration will be held on Wednesday, December 8 from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Surprise Senior Center, 15832 N. Hollyhock Street. It includes performances by local school choirs, hot cocoa, sweet treats, tree decorating, holiday crafts, snow play and more!

Plus, you can help bring holiday cheer to local families in need by bringing a new, unwrapped gift and a handmade or new ornament to the celebration. Place the gifts under one of the five trees on display outside the Senior Center. The gifts, trees and ornaments will be donated to local families.

If you are unable to make the event, but would still like to donate, you can drop items off at the Surprise Senior Center, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., between November 31 and December 8.

Gift ideas for the families include:

Family A:
Family - Queen comforter set for girl’s room and toiletries
Age 2 Male - Cocomelon toys, educational toys, size 3T clothing
Age 4 Female - slime, baby dolls and sets, size 4T clothing
Age 9 Female - Barbie styling head, play pedicure set, books, Girls size 7/8 clothing

Family B:
Age 4 Male - dinosaurs, scooter, skateboard, bike, Boys size 4T & up clothing and socks
Age 5 Male - trains, scooter, skateboard, bike, Boys size 5/6 clothing and socks

Family C:
Age 1 Male - toy cars and trucks, large ball
Age 4 Female - Sofia the First toys, dolls
Age 5 Male - superheroes
Age 15 Male - educational items, art supplies
Age 15 Male - electric scooter, sports
