In coordination with their selected third-party recruiter, Surprise City Council is postponing the recruitment for the next city manager.
“Our current City Manager Mike Frazier is not retiring until after the new year, so our council has some time to explore all our options,” said Mayor Skip Hall.
City Council wishes to thank all applicants that applied for the position.
“There are so many amazing people out there that choose public service as their career and we are grateful to those that applied for this position to help lead our city,” added Mayor Hall. “Our pause on the process is in no way a negative reflection of the applicant pool.”
The interview process for September 28 has been canceled and the Special Council Meeting for September 29, in which finalists were to state why they desired to be the next city manager, will also be canceled.
Any additional updates on the recruitment process will be announced at the appropriate time.
