Pavement preservation project on 163rd Ave, Happy Valley to Grand, begins Sept 28

Mill and overlay work to preserve pavement on 163rd Avenue, Happy Valley Road to Grand Avenue, will begin September 28.

Pavement preservation activities will begin at Happy Valley Road with work progressing along 163rd Avenue towards Grand Avenue. Motorists can expect north and south bound lane restrictions while the work is occurring.

Work will occur mostly during weekday hours, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.; crews will switch to overnight hours when working near the Sante Fe railroad and 163rd Avenue intersection.

The tentative project schedule is as follows:

  • Utility Adjustments – September 28 - October 2
  • Milling – October 5-9
  • Paving – October 12-16
  • Striping – October 22-28

Residents are asked to please be mindful of crews, reduced speed limits and temporary traffic configurations while the road improvement work is occurring.

The project is scheduled to be complete Wednesday, October 28, weather permitting.
