The city of Surprise and Valley Metro have updated the income qualified component of RideChoice. This program provides transportation services for income qualified residents to medical appointments, employment opportunities, and basic shopping needs.
The cost for qualified riders is $3 per trip up to eight miles, with any additional miles costing $2 per mile. Riders can take up to 20 trips per month. Residents must be at or below 50% of the Area Median Income level to qualify. Visit the City of Surprise website to see if you qualify and to download the application. If the resident meets all eligibility criteria, the City will forward the resident’s information to Valley Metro for processing, which generally takes 7 to 10 business days.
RideChoice is also available for ADA paratransit certified people with disabilities and seniors age 65+. For more information, go to surpriseaz.gov/publictransit.
As a reminder, to help slow the spread of COVID-19, Valley Metro is requiring face coverings on all transit services. For more information, please visit valleymetro.org/COVID19.
