Minor home rehabilitation funds available for eligible Surprise residents

The city is currently accepting applications from income-qualified Surprise property owners who need assistance financing minor home repairs.

This program will grant a maximum of $3,500 for eligible repairs in owner-occupied homes. If the proposed repairs exceed $3,500, applicants will have the opportunity to apply for the city’s Deferred Loan Program to cover the needed repairs.

Eligible repairs covered under the program include plumbing, water heater replacements, electrical repairs, HVAC repairs, broken windows, roof repairs, smoke detector replacement and more.

Funding for this program is limited. Projects are selected on a first come, first served basis, with special consideration given to projects that address health and safety issues such as plumbing leaks, electrical problems, HVAC problems, broken windows, etc.

For eligibility requirements or more information, visit the Housing Rehabilitation Programs webpage or call Neighborhood Services at 623.222.1550.
