Surprise Police donate retired cruiser to West-MEC campus

Police Donation

Officials from YOUR Surprise Police Department and Western Maricopa Education Center (West-MEC) Northwest Campus met on October 3 for an official exchanging of keys, as a retired police cruiser was donated to the school.

The 2012 Dodge Charger was donated to the West-MEC campus in Surprise for use in the Law, Public Safety & Security program. Students will utilize the vehicle for a variety of training scenarios, none of which include emergency driving or operating the vehicle on public roadways.

The cruiser was up for replacement in accordance with City of Surprise policies after more than 100,000 miles worth of use in service of the community. The donation is a part of the City of Surprise’s ongoing commitment to developing and engaging youth in our community.
