Surprise hosts over 100 teams for national baseball tournaments

The City of Surprise welcomes players of all ages this fall, as multigenerational competition lands in Surprise. The city is proud to be evolving into a sports hotbed in the southwest and is ready to welcome over 100 teams competing over two months of the fall season. With top tier facilities, more and more events continue to call Surprise Stadium home.

These events are not only great for tourism, but also provide a unique opportunity for residents to see some of the best amateur baseball in the country, right in their own backyard.

11th Annual Perfect Game Fall National Championship (Underclass) Protected by G-Form - September 20-23

Perfect Game is considered the elite amateur baseball scouting organization, producing over 100 tournaments and showcases each year. At Perfect Game events, players are performing with top level competition in front of college recruiters and professional scouts from all over the country. Since 2003, 8,420 Perfect Game alumni have been selected in the MLB First-Year Amateur Player Draft.

Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Baseball - September 27 & 29

The 2019 Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic is for players graduating in the year 2022 and younger. This event is a highly competitive wood bat tournament, featuring teams traveling from all over the western United States, Canada and Australia.

Arizona Senior Fall Classic - October 10, 11 & 13

The Arizona Senior Fall Classic is one of the premier showcases in the country. It started over 20 years ago with a focus on providing opportunities for players to have a career after high school baseball. The format and scheduling have evolved so all players can showcase their skills with the hundreds of colleges and pro scouts in attendance.

Men’s Senior Baseball League World Series - October 14-31

The Men’s Senior Baseball League (MSBL)/Men’s Adult Baseball League (MABL) is the premier amateur baseball league for adults 18 years of age and older. Founded in 1988, it is the fastest-growing adult baseball organization in the country. The league has 325 local affiliates, 3,200 teams and 45,000 members who play organized amateur baseball in local leagues, 30 regional tournaments and six national tournaments.

The City of Surprise Sports & Tourism department is responsible for managing Major League Baseball Spring Training at Surprise Stadium, shared-use facility partnerships with Ottawa University, major tennis tournaments, and tourism driven events, festivals and sports tournaments.
