The City of Surprise is looking for feedback in an upcoming Community Leader & Provider Forum to identify gaps, trends, and new ideas as part of a Community Needs Assessment.
This forum is for social service agency representatives and organizational representatives who provide human services for Surprise residents, business members, public/elected officials, faith community members and anyone providing services for Surprise residents in need.
The goal is to create a guiding document to assist in prioritizing plans, initiatives and programs to meet growing or unmet human service needs in our city.
The areas being assessed include: veteran services, youth, seniors/aging, disability/special needs, low-to-moderate income families, poverty, homelessness, all types of violence against individuals and other areas of need.

The Community Needs Assessment will also collect data and information from residents, service providers, community leaders, the U.S. Census Bureau and other data sources. Preliminary results will be shared for the community to assist in building solutions.
The Community Needs Assessment is being managed by the city’s Human Service and Community Vitality Department and being administered by I & E Consulting. It will be used to inform the new City of Surprise Veteran, Disability & Human Service Commission with resident input and data to create a strategic plan.
