Perfect Game’s WWBA West National Championships close out Surprise summer baseball

The Surprise Recreation Campus will close out this summer’s action packed baseball tournament series with Perfect Game’s inaugural World Wood Bat Association (WWBA) West National Championships! Watch the 14U-17U divisions compete July 12-25.

The 14U and 16U divisions play July 12-18. The 15U and 17U divisions play July 19-25. In that two-week period, over 85 teams will compete to be crowned champion. Players will be representing Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, New Hampshire, Maryland, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and Washington.

Games will take place at the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers practice facilities, located at 15930 N. Bullard Avenue, beginning at 7:00 a.m. each day. Daily admission is $10 per person; or $5 for military and senior tickets. A tournament pass is $45 per person; children 14 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased onsite at all gates with credit card only once the tournament has begun.

Perfect Game is the premier provider of amateur baseball events, hosting the highest quality of travel team tournaments and individual showcases throughout the country. Since 1999, 12,610 Perfect Game participants have been drafted to the Majors with over 1,300 players advancing on to the Major League level.  

The City of Surprise Sports & Tourism Department is responsible for managing Major League Baseball Spring Training at Surprise Stadium, shared-use facility partnerships with Ottawa University, major tennis tournaments and tourism driven events, festivals and sports tournaments.
