Registration open for fall youth sports leagues and classes

youth sports registration-01-01

Fall youth sports registration is now open! The city is offering soccer and flag football leagues, as well as skills classes in basketball, baseball and softball.

Fall Youth Soccer and Flag Football League: These are recreational leagues for boys and girls, ages 5-15. Practices will begin in late August; games will begin in early September. Games are played on Saturdays and/or weeknights. Practice times are up to the volunteer coach, but are typically one hour, once a week (5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.). Age is determined on or before October 31, 2019.

Fall Sports Classes: Surprise is also offering a number of fall youth sports skills classes beginning in August. These include basketball, baseball and softball. We will also be introducing Quickball, a grassroots sport of the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, that is literally quick baseball. With innovative concepts like timed games, multi-batter offenses and "arena" style action, Quickball is the diamond's great equalizer - a sport anyone can excel at regardless of size or strength.

Registration is available through July 20, in-person at the Surprise Community & Recreation Services office at 15960 N Bullard Avenue or online at

A special Saturday registration will be held on July 20 at the Community & Recreation Services office from 8-11 a.m.
