Wilson Premier Baseball tournament kicks off summer tourism season in Surprise

This week, more than 7,000 people from across the country will descend on the Surprise Stadium and Recreation Campus to kick off an incredible summer of sports tourism and baseball with the Wilson Premier Championship West.  

Over 85 teams from Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Nevada, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Washington will compete Friday, June 7 through Monday, June 10. Games will take place at the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers practice facilities at 15960 N. Bullard Ave., beginning at 8 a.m.

Admission is $10 per person daily or $25 per person for a tournament pass. Tickets will be available the day of the event at the main entrance of the Kansas City Royals practice facility. Cash and card will be accepted.       

Wilson Premier Baseball events are considered some of the most competitive in the country, with many of the top prospects and college programs in attendance. Schools that have selected Wilson Premier Baseball events as major recruiting events include: Georgia, Alabama, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, Louisville, South Carolina, TCU, Florida, Arizona State, Cal Poly State, Arizona, Miami, Arkansas, Iowa, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Tennessee, Auburn, Virginia and more.

This is just the first of the top youth sports events in store for the Surprise Stadium and Recreation Campus this summer. Athletes, coaches and fans are awaiting the Prep Baseball Report (June 13-16 & June 20-23), USA Baseball U16 West National Championships (June 30-July 8), and Perfect Game WWBA West National Championships (July 12-18 & July 19-25). 


By the end of July, the six scheduled baseball tournaments will bring in over 7,800 players and 30,000+ attendees, generating over 1,500 room nights - sparking Surprise’s local economy with hotel stays, and purchases of food, gas and more.
