Free financial, health benefits guidance available for seniors at Surprise Resource Center

Stepping up for Seniors

The city of Surprise has partnered with Stepping Up For Seniors to offer individuals, aged 55 or better, free financial counseling and side-by-side Medicare and Medicaid guidance.

Stepping Up For Seniors is a nonprofit agency that assists seniors who are facing challenges caused by poverty, isolation or financial need.

Seniors who are interested in the services can meet with a Certified State Health Insurance Assistance (SHIP) counselor for Medicare and Medicaid at the Surprise Resource Center, 12425 W. Bell Rd, Bldg. A. Ste. #124, to discuss their needs and determine eligibility for benefits, grants and referrals.

To receive assistance, seniors will need to first complete an online application at steppingupforseniors.org or call Roberta Ezratty, 623.866.4214, to schedule an appointment.

The Surprise Resource Center partners with over thirty local agencies and nonprofit organizations to offer social, human and workforce development services to the community.
