Surprise Fire-Medical sends assistance to battle California Wildfires

The Surprise Fire-Medical Department has sent three Wild Land Firefighters and a Type 6 Brush Truck to assist in battling the deadly wildfires burning in California.

The Surprise crew was deployed on Saturday, November 10 and is currently working in Los Angeles County at the Woolsey Fire. The Woolsey fire is one of three major wildfires burning in California. Latest reports indicate that the fires have left 50 people dead and over 200 still missing. These wildfires have been called the most destructive and deadly in California’s history.

Other Arizona fire departments have also sent personnel and apparatus, including Scottsdale, Summit, Yuma, Superstition, Daisy Mountain, and the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management.
