2013 State Legislative Agenda 2013 State Legislative Agenda
This report describes the City’s proposed state legislative agenda for the First Regular Session of the 51th Arizona State Legislature. Once modified and approved by the Mayor and Council, the agenda will define the City’s state legislative priorities and guide the City’s lobbying activities at the State Legislature. As bills are introduced and debated, the agenda will evolve with input from the Mayor and Council. The session will commence on Monday, January 14, 2013.

Once input is received from the Mayor and Council, the approved agenda will guide the City’s federal legislative priorities and lobbying activities at the federal level.

The purpose of this agenda item is to have the Council consider the City’s federal legislative agenda for Fiscal Year 2009. Triadvocates is currently under contract with the City for federal lobbying efforts. This report provides recommendations on federal priorities for Surprise in FY09.
2008 State Legislative Agenda 2008 State Legislative Agenda
The 48th Arizona State Legislature convened for its second regular session on Monday, January 14, 2008. During its first regular session in 2007, Legislators introduced 1548 bills, memorials and resolutions, and sent 318 bills to the Governor. This agenda, as approved, will give direction for the City’s legislative activities at the Arizona State Legislature during the 2008 session. Approval of general concepts and principles at this stage is important to ensure timely navigation of the legislative process. During session you will receive weekly progress reports of key bills through bill tracking reports. Intergovernmental Relations will update and seek additional direction from the Council on bills and amendments during session as warranted.
