New tourism website launches; showcases city as a place to “Find your Surprise”
Surprise, AZ (February 26, 2019) The city has launched a new tourism website to help showcase the city of Surprise as a year-round travel destination.
The website, ExploreSurprise.com, features the slogan “Find your Surprise,” and highlights the many ways to play, dine, shop and stay in Surprise! It inspires visitors to make the most of their stay by curating city attractions into one easy-to-navigate website filled with vibrant visual images. It also includes several trip itineraries and a blog with tips for tourists.
“Surprise offers incredible outdoor recreational attractions surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Sonoran desert and White Tank Mountains,” says Mayor Skip Hall. “This website tells our story to potential visitors. We are more than just a Phoenix Metro suburb. We are a place to find your fun, find your game… find your Surprise!”
The website also features the city’s rentable venues and sporting facilities, which can be used for tournaments, corporate meetings, festivals and other special events.
“This will be a great tool for attracting new sports and tourism events to Surprise,” says the city’s Sports and Tourism Director Kendra Pettis. “Tournament directors and event promoters will have the opportunity to learn more about the amazing facilities and amenities the city has available to host premier events.”
While visitors are the website’s target audience, residents will also enjoy many of its features – including the events calendar. The calendar lists city-hosted happenings like Spring Training games, tournaments and festivals but it’s also set up to take event submissions from local businesses and organizations.
This is a great way for restaurants to let people know when they have live music or for arts venues to get the word out about exhibits they have on display. The calendar is designed to be a robust view of all the fun that’s happening in Surprise.
The ultimate goal is to brand Surprise as a tourist destination and create a positive economic impact for the city.
“Tourism can be a fantastic economic driver, bringing in additional sales tax dollars, creating new jobs and attracting businesses,” says Hall. “Those dollars can then be used to support city projects and services that benefit our residents.”
