Applications open for Community Development Block Grant funding for public service activities
Surprise, AZ (December 5, 2018) The City of Surprise Neighborhood Services Division is soliciting applications from qualified nonprofit organizations that are interested in providing services that address one or more of the public service needs targeted in the city’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
A pre-application meeting will be held on December 11, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Surprise City Hall, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza, in the Lobby Conference Room (CH1F N1-150).
Under this program, CDBG funds may be used to provide public services (including labor, supplies, materials and other costs), provided the public service is:
- A new service; or
- A quantifiable increase in the current level of a service
Targeted public service activities include, but are not limited to: child care, youth services, health care, education programs, job training/job creation, qualified veteran services and more.
The completed application must address one or more of the targeted public service activities, as specified in the application, and must serve primarily low to moderate income persons in the City of Surprise.
All applications must be postmarked by Friday, January 11, 2019 or received at Surprise City Hall no later than 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019.
