City’s annual Pavement Preservation Program kicks off
Surprise, AZ (October 23, 2018) The City of Surprise Public Works Department kicked off its annual Pavement Preservation Program this week, and the focus of the first phase is low-to-moderate-capacity collector roads.
This annual program identifies city streets to receive appropriate applications to lengthen the lifetime of the street surface. The approved budgeted amount for the FY19 Pavement Preservation Program is $4.5 million.
In this first phase, the following roads will receive Mill & Rubberized Asphalt Overlay:
All work will be performed in daytime hours. Residents can expect road restrictions during the work and are asked to be aware of temporary “Fresh Oil” signs and mobile work crews installing the treatment. Schedules are tentative and subject to change.
- Brookside Ln, Reems Rd to Bell Rd – Work scheduled for 10/22-10/24, 11/12-11/15, 11/19-11/21
- Mountain View Blvd, Reems Rd to Parkview Pl – Work scheduled for 10/25-10/26, 10/29, 11/12-11/16, 11/19-11/21
- Clearview Blvd, Sunrise Blvd to Goldwater Canyon Dr – Work scheduled for 10/26, 10/29-11/2, 11/5, 11/14-11/16, 11/19-11/21
- Goldwater Ridge Dr, Clearview Blvd to Mountain View Blvd – Work scheduled for 10/31-11/2, 11/5-11/9, 11/12-11/15, 11/19-11/21
Maps showing the roads scheduled to receive treatment in the first phase are available online at www.surpriseaz.gov/ppp. The website also lists the roads slated for future phases of treatment. Timelines for those projects will be posted at a later date.
These pavement preservation projects are being performed in addition to those funded as part of the Decide Surprise General Obligation (GO) Bond approved by Surprise voters in November 2017.
