Police seek public assistance to identify shooting suspect in Surprise
S?urprise, A?Z (April 20, 2017) The Surprise Police are currently seeking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying a suspect who discharged a firearm from a vehicle in the City of Surprise. The incident occurred shortly before 10 pm on Monday, April 17, 2017, near the intersection of Paradise Lane and Reems Road in Surprise.
During the incident, the victim dialed 9-1-1 and reported being shot at while driving away and fleeing from an unknown vehicle. The victim reported being followed by the suspect for several miles. After making several turns, the victim lost sight of the suspect vehicle. The victim continued to drive until being contacted by a police officer near Loop 303 and Waddell Road in Surprise.
After the police contacted the victim, they discovered the rear window of the victim’s vehicle was broken by what appeared to be a bullet fragment. During the investigation, independent witnesses reported seeing another vehicle chasing the victim and described the suspect vehicle as an older model Honda Accord (dark grey or silver in color).
On Wednesday, April 19, 2017, another victim contacted the Surprise Police and stated they discovered a bullet hole in their vehicle. They reportedly were also in the same area on Monday night, heard a loud noise, but did not notice any damage until Wednesday morning. The victim in this case did not see a suspect and it is unknown at this time if the two incidents are related.
