“Rose” is asking for public assistance to locate a lost family pet, “Widow”
Surprise, AZ (June 30, 2016) Recently, the Surprise Police responded to a local apartment in the area of 15300 West Young Street in reference to possible burglary in progress.
On June 29, 2016, at approximately 1:40 pm, officers responded to the apartment and found the front door wide open. Officers learned from a witness, who had arrived at the apartment prior to the officers and contacted the police because they found the door wide open.
After the officers approached the apartment, they noticed the front door appeared to have been forced open. Upon entering the home, the officers found no one inside of the apartment. However, as the officers entered the home, a family pet, a 6 year old, 65lbs, German Shepard named “Widow”, ran out of the front door of the apartment and has not returned.
The responding officers and several animal control officers thoroughly searched the surrounding area, but were unable to locate “Widow”.
“Rose”, the Surprise Police Department therapy dog, and the men and women of the Surprise Police Department are asking anyone with information regarding the current location of “Widow” to please contact the Surprise Police Department at 623.222.4000 or 623.222.TIPS (8477).
