Police seek public assistance to identify bank robbery suspect
Surprise, AZ (June 30, 2016) On June 29, 2016 around 10:05 am, the Surprise Police responded to a bank robbery at the Desert Schools Federal Credit Union located in the 16700 block of West Bell Road, in Surprise.
Upon arrival, officers interviewed several witnesses inside the bank at the time of the robbery. One of the witnesses stated shortly after 10 am a white male, approximately 6”01”, with a thin build, a light colored beard with natural red highlights entered the store, brandished a firearm, and demanded money.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect then fled from the business on foot. The suspect was wearing a charcoal colored button-up shirt (with the sleeves rolled up), blue jean pants, white shoes, thick framed eye glasses, and a grey plaid golf-style hat.
The Surprise Police are asking anyone currently living in the Bell West Ranch Neighborhood to review their home surveillance cameras to see if they captured the suspect as he fled, possibly north into the neighborhood.
