Police and community partners host 2016 Spring Bicycle Rodeo
Surprise, AZ (Month 00, 2016) On Saturday, April 9, 2016, the Surprise Police, in partnership with the Christ Church of the Valley (CCV), are hosting an exciting community event, the 2016 Surprise Police Department Spring Bicycle Rodeo.
The rodeo is scheduled to be held at the CCV Church located at the 14787 West Cholla Street in Surprise from 8 am to noon. The bike rodeo is being held in order to bring community members closer together as the police promote safe bike riding habits and overall bicycle safety.
Representatives from Build-A-Bike, a local bicycle shop, will also be on hand to properly fit helmets and to perform other bicycle safety checks before the children begin the rodeo. For those children and parents who arrive early to the event; there may also be some great prizes given away.
If your child does not own a bicycle, some bikes will be on hand for them to borrow in order to participate in the event. Although it is highly encouraged for child to bring their own helmet, the police have made some arrangements to have some bicycle helmets available as well.
The event sponsors would like see maximum participation from the community, so please come out and join the staff members from Build-A-Bike, CCV, and the Surprise Police Department and do your part to help promote safe riding habits and bicycle safety.
