Police hold drug takeback event
Surprise, AZ (March 21, 2016) The Surprise Police Department, in partnership with Sun Health and the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission, will be providing free training on prescription medication safety and holding a medication disposal event from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, March 28, 2016. This event will be held at the Colonnade Recreation Village located at 19116 Colonnade Way, Surprise, AZ.
Surprise Police and the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission will discuss safely handling, storing and disposing of prescription medication. Attendees also can bring and safely dispose of prescription and over-the-counter medication at the event. Please note that police will be unable to accept thermometers, liquids, needles, ointments/lotions, inhalers, or aerosol cans.
To register for the education component of this free event, please call 623-455-5633. Registered participants are asked to call to cancel at least two business days in advance if they cannot make this event.
Medication disposal is open to the public on a walk-in basis, from 10 a.m. to noon.
