Surprise Police recue local bird of prey

Surprise, AZ (April 28, 2015) On Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at approximately 1:15 pm, a Surprise Police Department Animal Control Unit responded to a wildlife call in the area of 115th Avenue and Bell Road, in Surprise. The police were notified by a Surprise resident that a local falcon had injured its wing and needed assistance.

Upon arrival, Surprise Police Animal Control Officer Michael Wilster gently collected the majestic bird of prey. Later, the injured falcon was transported to “Fallen Feathers”, a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation facitlity, and exotic bird rescue, located in Northwest Phoenix. We are happy to report the animal is now receiving the medical assistance it needed and hope the bird recovers quickly from the injury to it’s wing.
