Swim and health lessons free through Michael Phelps Foundation
Surprise, AZ (May 13, 2022) The City of Surprise Parks and Recreation Department is offering FREE swim and health lessons for children ages 6-12 through the Michael Phelps Foundation IM Program.
The IM Program teaches participants to be safe in and around water, advance their swimming skills, set and attain personal goals and have good overall health. IM stands for “I am safe, I am fun, I am fast, I am healthy and I am successful.”
The swim and health classes will be one hour, consisting of a 30-minute swim lesson and 30-minute health lesson that will include goal setting. This is designed for non-swimmers, swimmers that need assistance and for those who want to get stronger in the water. Swimmers will be divided into different groups based on skill/comfort level after the first class.
Classes will be offered at Hollyhock Community Pool, 15808 N. Hollyhock St., on eight Saturdays starting June 4 - July 30 (no class July 2) at three different times: 8 - 9 a.m., 9:15 -10:15 a.m. or 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
