Multiple large-scale events in Surprise City Center this weekend; plan ahead

Surprise, AZ (October 21, 2021) The City of Surprise Civic & Recreation Campus will host thousands of people this Saturday, October 23, with multiple venues booked for special events and sports tournaments.

If you are heading to the area near Bell Road and Bullard Avenue on Saturday, please plan for increased vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Surprise Police remind you to “Drive Wise, Surprise” by practicing safe driving habits such as obeying the speed limit, watching for pedestrians, and avoiding distractions.   

Here is a listing of Saturday’s events:

    6:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
USTA Tennis Tournament, Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex 

    8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Youth Sports Tournaments (302 teams), Surprise Recreation Campus (Mark Coronado Park, Kansas City Royals Practice Fields, Surprise Youth Baseball Complex), Gaines Park and Dick McComb Softball Complex

    12 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Pumpkin Splash, Surprise Aquatic Center

    12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
OUAZ Pickleball Tournament, Surprise Pickleball Courts at Surprise Community Park

    2 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Men’s Senior Baseball World Series, Kansas City Royals Auxiliary Fields 

    3 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
OUAZ Fall Festival, Ottawa University-Arizona

    5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
G.A.I.N. Night, Mark Coronado Park

    6:35 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Fall League Baseball, Surprise Stadium

    7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
OUAZ Football Game, OUAZ Stadium at Ottawa University-Arizona
