City of Surprise Opens Recruitment for New Police Chief

Surprise, AZ (February 24, 2021) The City of Surprise is seeking an experienced public safety professional with outstanding leadership skills to serve as its next Police Chief. 

Strong candidates will be forward thinking and will continue to lead the Department consistent with our City’s needs and values to ensure the Surprise Police Department continues to provide the highest level of public safety service.

The Police Chief application period runs February 24 - March 23, and the City anticipates filling the position in May 2021.

The position of Surprise Police Chief opened following the promotion of former Police Chief Terry Young to City of Surprise Assistant City Manager in January 2021. Assistant Police Chief Geoffrey Leggett is currently serving as Interim Police Chief.
