Surprise launches “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” campaign to support community needs
Surprise, AZ (March 20, 2020) You can have a major impact by helping your neighbors! During our current public health crisis, the need of those in our community is increasing. The city of Surprise is asking our residents to donate some critical items.
The following items are being sought:
- Baby formula
- Diapers (all sizes, including adult)
- Toilet paper
- Baby wipes
- Soap
- Feminine hygiene products
- Gloves
- Canned meat
The above items can be dropped off into bins outside of these Surprise locations:
- Salvation Army: 17420 Ave of the Arts, 623-977-1084
Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Radiant Church: 15522 W. Paradise Ln., 623-975-2662
Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Surprise Senior Center: 15832 N. Hollyhock St., 623-222-1500
Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
All other food donations can be directed to Valley View Food Bank or St. Mary’s Food Bank.
If you are in need of the specific items listed above, please call in advance to check on stock. You can contact the Salvation Army at 623-977-1084, Radiant Church at 623-975-2662, or the Surprise Resource Center at 623-222-1600 or 12425 W. Bell Rd. Bldg. A, Ste. #124. Donations will be shared on a first come, first served basis.
Radiant Church will begin drive thru distribution for those in need on Monday, March 30 at the address listed above. Individuals and families can pick up necessities Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon. Supplies include paper products, diapers, water, canned goods, cereals and more. In an effort to maintain social distancing guidelines, drivers can stay in their vehicles and volunteers will load cars with the needed supplies.
