Court Exploring Program

The Court Exploring Program provides youth with an opportunity to participate in a unique interactive worksite-based career education exploring program, with a focus on the field of Law and Government. Court Explorers increase their awareness of the judicial system through education, observation and participation.

Students will have the opportunity to observe civil and/or criminal proceedings, participate in a mock trial, and take a behind-the-scenes court tour. Plus, they will meet city court staff and judicial stakeholders and learn about their roles and how the Arizona court system works.


  • Open to students in 9th – 12th grade
  • Must attend a school within the Surprise city limits OR a Dysart Unified School District high school or reside within the city of Surprise.

The 2018 Court Explorers Program meets the first and third Wednesday of each month, 3:30 – 5 p.m., from January 17 through the end of the school year.
