Honoring an Exceptional Leader Task Force

Recognizing that the City of Surprise rests on the shoulders of great women and men who invested a precious part of themselves to the benefit of our city; the Surprise City Council has adopted a policy to create an Ad-Hoc “Honoring an Exceptional Leader Task Force” within the City of Surprise.

In 2017, the City Council instructed the City Manager’s Office to draft a policy that would recognize people that made a significant contribution to advance the city through possible naming dedications of city amenities, awards, facilities, parks, roadways, etc….

The group is assembled, as requested by Council, and includes the following volunteers and staff members: Chair of the Planning & Zoning Commission; Chair of the Community & Recreation Advisory Commission; Arts & Cultural Advisory Commission; City Attorney; Assistant City Manager and the Public Works Director.
