Animal Care and Control Staff

Animal Control Staff
The Police Department's Animal Care and Control Unit consists of four full-time Officers.  They  come from varying animal based backgrounds but have a single goal of serving the citizens and animals of Surprise.

Our animal care and control officers cover the community seven days a week, handling calls of service for stray animals, injured animals, barking dogs, animal bites and other animal related issues.

Our animal care and control officers are dedicated to providing humane treatment of animals and receive training from the National Animal Control Association (NACA) in animal safety, handling, apprehension methods and capture equipment. The officers are also trained to  investigate  animal welfare and cruelty cases.

Public Education & Outreach

The Animal Care and Control Unit is committed to public safety, building community relationships and instilling responsible pet ownership.
