Personnel Appeals Board

The Personnel Appeals Board serves as a neutral body to review disciplinary actions of classified City employees, which actions consist of suspensions without pay of more than 24 hours, demotions, or terminations and to assure that adequate procedural safeguards were provided related to such discipline.

The board consists of seven members who are appointed by the Mayor and City Council to staggered three-year terms.The board meets in City Hall within 14 calendar days of an appeal filed pursuant to Chapter 3 of the Surprise Municipal Code and otherwise as necessary.
