The Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex is proud to offer the latest in introductory tennis instruction, Quickstart Tennis.
The philosophy of Quickstart Tennis is to provide a structured and fun framework for learning the game of tennis, utilizing equipment and court dimensions that are age and skill appropriate.
The curriculum seeks to develop and improve stroke technique, movement, court sense and basic tennis tactics. Demo racquets are available for Quickstart Tennis students. |

For the younger player, the Quickstart Foam Ball and 36' courts will be utilized. Focus will be on hand-eye coordination, developing racquet skills, and having fun! 4 week sessions / limit of 6 participants

Junior Quickstart is designed for beginners through low intermediate players. Players in the program are either learning the game for the first time or continuing their skill building and fundamental work. While players will be rallying, it is NOT expected at this level that players can rally. Parents: You have the option of selecting how many days and what days per week your child will attend.
Please provide days that you will consistently attend. If you need to adjust your attendance schedule, advance notice is appreciated.

This program is geared toward advanced junior players, 18 and under, who want to continue improving their skills so they can compete at a higher level. Focus will be on consistency, aggressive play, strategy, footwork and conditioning. Participants will be divided into the groups based on skill level:
GOLD - Regionally and/or Nationally Ranked Juniors. Drills are intensive and extra play is mandatory. Strategy in both singles and doubles is stressed during practice thus developing the skills to be competitive at the collegiate level.
SILVER - Varsity High School Players with 2-4 years of experience and/or lessons. Knows how to hit spin in competitive play and ground strokes are consistent and can hit depth with control. Player can direct ball with consistency and depth on moderate serves, developing spin, pace and placement. Working on aggressive net play.
BRONZE - Minimum 2 years of experience and/or lessons. Improved consistency on ground strokes. Good form should be apparent on groundstrokes, volleys and serves. Serves are working on spins and power. Can execute forehand and backhand volleys. Working on doubles skills. Empasis on developing game style.
Junior Excellence participants will be expected to join the STRC Junior Challenge Ladder, participate in Junior Team Tennis and enter tournaments throughout the calendar year. All players must be disciplined and dedicated to giving 110% while on and off the court. This program is not for beginners or for players who have had no previous coaching. Pro approval for this program is required PRIOR to registration. |
