National Youth Baseball tournaments at Surprise Recreation Campus
Surprise, AZ (July 23, 2012) The City of Surprise Community and Recreation Services Department is pleased to announce the upcoming national youth baseball tournaments at the Surprise Recreation Campus, beginning this week.
These events will generate over 600 room nights in local hotels and an estimated $300,000 to local businesses.
July 23-29: Ken Griffey Jr. World Series 15 year olds. Come watch teams from the North Atlantic, North Central, East Central, Southeast, South Plains and West Regions of USA American Amateur Baseball Congress participate in America’s favorite pastime. Teams from New York, Colorado, California, Texas, New Mexico, Illinois and Arizona have qualified.
July 24-30: Gil Hodges World Series 11 year olds. The Gil Hodges World Series will consist of 6 to 8 teams from the North Atlantic, North Central, East Central, Southeast, South Plains and the West Regions of USA American Amateur Baseball Congress. Teams from New York, New Jersey, New Mexico and California have already qualified.
July 27-30: American Legion State Tournament. The American Legion State Tournament will consist of 8 teams from across the state of Arizona.
July 30-August 4: Babe Ruth Pacific Southwest Regional Tournaments - 13 and 14 year old divisions. This tournament will consist of 17 teams, 14 teams will be from Hawaii, California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah.
Come and show your support for these teams as they participate in America’s favorite pastime.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and 12 and under is free. Please contact the Community and Recreation Service office at 623.222.2000 for additional information.
