For Immediate Release
Waddell-303 intersection to reopen; closure moves south to Cactus intersection
Surprise, AZ (June 21, 2012) The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) plans to reopen Waddell Road, from Sarival to the Loop 303 by 5 p.m., Friday, June 22.
As intersection improvement work continues, Cactus Road is scheduled to close at 5 a.m. Monday, June 25, and remain closed for approximately six months as crews build the new Loop 303 overpass at that location.
Drivers are encouraged to use Waddell or Greenway roads as an east-west detour.
As 303 widening work continues south of City of Surprise limits, ADOT reminds drivers to prepare for the following closure this weekend:
• The 303 will be closed in both directions between Northern and Olive avenues from 5 a.m., Saturday, June 23 to 4 a.m., Monday, June 25 for relocation of a water line. Cotton Lane or Sarival Road are the recommended detours.
Crews continue sound wall construction on the west side of Loop 303 between Mountain View and Clearview boulevards in Surprise. This work is expected to continue through fall 2012. Workers are scheduled to work from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays during summer months.
