Valley Metro to host public meeting in Surprise on proposed service changes
Surprise, AZ (February 8, 2012) Valley Metro Regional Public Transportation Authority has announced a series of public hearings/meetings on possible service changes to certain routes, including Route 571 in Surprise. A meeting is scheduled in Surprise on March 12.
Possible service changes include the following routes: Grand Avenue Limited (GL), Routes 510, 511, 512, 520, 521, 531, 532, 533, 540, 541, 542, 560, 562, 571, 573, 575, 581, and 251 (new service).
The proposed service change impacting the city-funded Route 571 would be to remove the stop at Greenway/Sunny Lane. The proposed route would then be as follows: Surprise Park and Ride, south on Dysart to Thunderbird (stop at Wal-Mart to replace Greenway/Sunny Lane stop), east to Grand Avenue, southeast to Van Buren, east to Central Station, south to Washington, west to Capitol.
Any proposed changes or service reductions may become effective as early as July 2012.
The public meeting in Surprise will be held in conjunction with the Transportation Commission Meeting:

Public hearing: 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. *or until all comments have been heard
