Surprise’s 27th Annual 4th of July Celebration – Get Your Tickets Now! SURPRISE, AZ (June 24, 2009) Celebrate the Fourth of July with the City of Surprise and the Community and Recreation Services Department, 5 – 8:30 pm, July 4 at the Surprise Recreation Campus. Enjoy live entertainment, great food and lots of family fun! The evening is highlighted with a 20 minute firework show set to patriotic music starting at dusk. Surprise Stadium – FREE Ticketed Event Come inside the stadium and watch a Rookie League Baseball Game featuring the Texas Rangers taking on the Chicago Cubs. Concession stands will be offering a variety of food and ice cold beverages including $1 peanuts, popcorn, popsicles and $2 hot dogs and Coke (limit 2 per transaction). Kids can have fun in the Kid Zone with giant slides, obstacle courses, face painters and balloon twisters. There is a $2 charge to participate in the Kid Zone. The 4th of July Celebration is a FREE family event, with a donation of a canned food item, which will be donated to the Valley View Community Food Bank. Space is limited to the first 10,000 (stadium capacity). Tickets will be required for admission. To guarantee your seat to this fun family event, pick-up your ticket early at the Community & Recreation Services Office located at 15960 N. Bullard Avenue. Family Fun – Free! Surprise Community Park – 15953 N. Bullard Ave. - 6 pm Families can sit back and enjoy live stage entertainment featuring “This Ain’t LA” at the Surprise Community Park Bring blankets, lawn chairs and the family! Family Picnic Area – Free! Surprise Recreation Campus – 8 acres – 15850 N. Bullard Ave. – 6 pm Families can also enjoy live music featuring “The Hype” at the 8-acres grass area directly north of the stadium. Bring blankets, lawn chairs and the family. The Surprise Recreation Campus is located at 15850 N. Bullard Ave., about two miles west of Grand Avenue between Bell and Greenway roads.
